Four wineries of Krasnodar region started exporting wine to Belgium

Kuban wine producers entered into agreements on exclusive product supplies with Start2taste company. It incorporates such wineries as «Grand wine», «Lefkadia», «Sauk-Dheere» and «Villa Victoria».

The agreements were reached in Brussels in the Russian center of culture and science within the framework of presentation of wines of domestic producers. The enterprises have already supplied around nine thousand bottles.

The head of Belgium company Dimitri Bonte acknowledged high quality of Kuban wines and asserted that sparkling wine from Russia stays competitive with the popular breeds of Champagne. He added that the company has already awarded orders from Michelin-starred restaurants.

As noted by Andrey Korobka, Deputy Governor of Krasnodar region in charge of Agro-industrial complex, the global reach of export of Kuban wines has grown bigger and bigger each year.

– The acknowledgement of our wines on the international market is a genuine success. It enhances their image. The global reach of export of Kuban wines gains new countries every year. At present, our wineries supply wine to 14 countries across the globe. Over 11 months this year, we exported more than 265 thousand deciliters of wine products – said Andrey Korobka.

For reminder, almost 45% of the Russian gross grape yield, 42% of Russian wine and 27% of Russian Champagne are produced in Krasnodar region. The share of Krasnodar region within the Russian wine areas makes 30%.
